Cookie Policy
Last updated: November 2024
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Shelly Europe Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Shelly Fleet Manager website and web application at https://fleet.shelly.com/ (the “Service”).
By continuing to use the Service, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive).
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the website operators. Cookies can be “session cookies” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (remain on your device for a set period).
3. Types of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the operation of the Service. They enable basic functions like page navigation, secure area access, and session management. The Service cannot function properly without these cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| session_id | Maintains your authenticated session | Session |
| csrf_token | Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
| cookie_consent | Stores your cookie preferences | 1 year |
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — these cookies are strictly necessary for the provision of the Service.
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the Service to remember choices you make (such as your language preference, time zone, or dashboard layout) and provide enhanced, personalized features.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| user_preferences | Stores UI preferences (language, timezone, theme) | 1 year |
| dashboard_layout | Remembers your dashboard configuration | 1 year |
| fm_lang | Remembers the language you chose with the EN/DE switch on this website. Set only when you use the switch. | 1 year |
Language by location: If you have not chosen a language, visitors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Liechtenstein are sent to the German version of this website. The country is looked up on our own server from your IP address, using an offline database. The address is not sent to third parties and this lookup does not log or store it, and no cookie is set. IP geolocation by DB-IP.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3.3 Analytics Cookies
As of the date of this policy, we do not use any analytics cookies or third-party tracking technologies. Should we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy accordingly and obtain your explicit consent before placing any analytics cookies on your device.
Legal basis (if applicable in future): Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Analytics cookies would only be placed with your explicit consent via a cookie consent mechanism.
4. Third-Party Cookies
The Service may include content or functionality from third-party providers (such as payment processors) that may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies and recommend reviewing the relevant third-party privacy policies.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly.
- Cookie consent: Currently, the Service uses only strictly necessary cookies that do not require consent. If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, a cookie consent mechanism will be presented on your first visit, allowing you to accept or reject such cookies.

6. Local Storage and Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, the Service may use local storage (HTML5) and similar browser storage mechanisms to store non-sensitive preferences and session data locally on your device. These technologies serve similar purposes to cookies and are subject to the same policies described herein.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our data practices. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
