The business
The company installs solar panels, heat pumps and batteries in private homes in Northern Europe. The homeowner doesn't buy the system. They pay a fixed monthly fee, and the company keeps ownership and guarantees how the system performs for many years.
Why the energy meter is the core of the business
In this model the company doesn't earn on the hardware. It earns on the promise that the system will perform. That promise is only as good as the measurements behind it, and every one of those measurements comes from a Shelly Pro 3EM in the home.
- It proves the guarantee. Per-phase power and energy, imported and exported, measured continuously in every home.
- It catches problems early. A system that underperforms shows up in the data before the homeowner notices it on their bill.
- It prices the risk. With real data from hundreds of homes, the company knows what a guarantee actually costs, instead of guessing.
Without the meter there is no data, and without data the fixed monthly fee is a bet.
Their own app, fed by Fleet Manager
Homeowners never see Fleet Manager. They use the company's own app, under the company's brand. Behind it, the company's platform pulls the meter data from Fleet Manager through the API.
- Fleet Manager is the device backend. It keeps 900+ meters connected and stores every measurement.
- History that doesn't get thrown away. Recent raw data plus a 15-minute rollup that keeps the full history.
- Energy exports for the analytics team. 15-minute, per-phase imported and exported energy for every meter.
- Fleet operations. New installs come in through the waiting room, firmware updates run across the fleet, and offline meters raise an alert.
What it gives them
The company didn't have to build a device backend, which would have meant running a second company inside the first one. Its team builds what makes it different: the pricing, the guarantee and the customer app. Fleet Manager and the Shelly meters supply the data that holds it all up.
